Extreme Karma sauce underrates its heat on the bottle. The ingredients only mention a generic “red pepper”, along with butternut squash, apple cider vinegar, onion, sweet potato, honey, garlic, salt, and ginger. The label humbly brags it’s “the best thing to happen to eggs”. There are clues elsewhere on the bottle, though, including the phrase “XHOT”, and abbreviated references to the peppers involved — Bhut Jolokia (aka Ghost Pepper) and Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Congrats, you’ve just survived some of the world’s hottest peppers.

It’s very thick, with a dark orange tint the color of sweet potatoes. A drop of this sauce gets your attention. I tried putting out the heat with a beverage. Turns out “the beer does nothing!”

Ingredients: red pepper, butternut squash, apple cider vinegar, onion, sweet potato, honey, garlic, salt, ginger.

Recommended on: chicken, nachos, or whatever. You won’t taste anything after.
